- Java Runtime Environment
- ----------------------------
-
- In order to run MagicMapper, you have to have Java Runtime Environment (JRE )
- verion 1.1 or higher installed on your machine. It is strongly recommended that
- you install the latest JRE (jre1.1.6 as of May 18, 1998 ). You may have installed
- JRE already as part of the MagicMapper installation. If not, you can download the
- lastest JRE from http://www.javasoft.com/products

- ----------------------------
- New Features in Version 1.1
- ----------------------------
-
- 1. Easier
-
- MagicMapper 1.1 is easier to use than Version 1.0. Things that
- users used to have to do manually in the previous version are now
- handled through the applet generation wizard. For instance, users can
- change the size of the applet, the location of the applet, and choose
- a site map template through the applet generation wizard.
-
- 2. More powerful
-
- The applet generation wizard provides more customization options such as
- background image, tree branch color, mouse-over color, selection background
- and foreground colors, etc.
-
- 3. More images
-
- MagicMapper 1.1 also gives a user more icons and background images.

- Known Issues and Limitations
- ----------------------------
-
-
- 1. MagicMapper cannot access links embedded in server-side image maps.
-
- 2. Currently, MagicMapper does not support SSL (https). However, we are
- working on this issue, and it should be available in the next major
- release.
-
- 3. MagicMapper does not support Javascript
-
- 4. If MagicMapper is installed in a different directory than the
- previous installation directory, the user will not be able to read
- previous generated site profiles.
-
- To work around this bug, please copy all of the contents
- in the "data\project" directory under the previous installation directory to
- the "data\project" directory under the new installation directory.
-
-
- 5. On rare occasions, when a user hit "Stop" to stop parsing webpages,
- the program does not stop parsing even the UI has indicated so.
